Class 7 maths is very important for students, it will help students to polish their basics and strengthen their foundation. The class 7 maths exam requires proper learning and dedication from the students to be able to score well. Thus, a proper plan is required for the maths exam and class 7 maths in general. Students need to follow and study according to certain study plans to be able to properly learn and understand the concepts and topics. This will not only help them to score well but also prepare them for higher maths classes.

This article will provide you with the best study plan for CBSE class 7 maths that one can follow and prepare. The study plan requires you to maintain a timetable where you need to allocate time for each chapter and its questions. There are 15 chapters in class 7 maths and all of them are important. Some of the important chapters are as follows:

Chapter 1

  • Integers: Learn about the relation between natural and whole numbers. Learn the new terminologies that are going to be introduced. You will also have to learn how to represent integers on a number line. Allocate 1-2hrs for the learning and solving questions related to addition and subtraction of integers. Do the same with multiplication and division. Before starting any topic, learn their properties and go through a few examples. You also have to allocate 2-3hrs every day for solving questions related to each topic and their examples. This is an important part of the study plan that students must not neglect. There are 30 questions in this chapter and you need to solve and practice all of them.

Chapter 2

  • Fractions and Decimals: You need to learn about the types of fractions such as mixed fractions, proper fractions, and improper fractions. You need to learn how to represent them on a number line and also the order of fractions. Topics like comparison of fractions and equivalent fractions need to be learned properly and you can allocate 1-2hrs for each of the topics. Allocate 1-2hrs for learning multiplication of fractions and solving questions related to it. Do the same for the division of fractions. Allocate 2-4hrs for the decimal numbers and learn the multiplication and division of decimals. Make sure to also solve a few examples. Allocate additional 2-3hrs for practicing questions related to this chapter. There are 39 questions in this chapter and you need to solve them all.

Chapter 3

  • Data Handling: You need to learn the types of data and how to handle them. You also need to learn about the collection of data and the organization of data. Allocate 2hrs for each of the following topics and also practice a few examples: representative values, arithmetic mean, mode and median. For the chapters mean, mode, and median, you can add an extra few hours but be thorough with them. Learn about the use of bar graphs with different purposes and solve questions related to them. Chance and probability is the last topic and you can allocate 1-2hrs for it. There are 23 questions in this chapter.

Chapter 4 

  • Simple Equations: This chapter is very interesting and learning will be fun for students also. You have to learn how to form an equation and how to solve an equation with another equation. You also have to learn how to apply and implement equations. Allocate 2-3hrs for learning the topic solutions to the equations. You also have to allocate 2-4hrs for practicing questions related to this chapter and its examples. There are 4 questions in this chapter.

Chapter 5 

  • Lines and Angles: This chapter is based on basic geometry. You have to learn about line segments and endpoints. You also have to learn about the various types of angles. Allocate a few hours for the pair of lines and parallel lines. You also have to allocate 2-3hrs for practicing questions related to this chapter. In this chapter, you also have to draw diagrams in your answers so you must also practice them. Solve the given examples. There are 20 questions in this chapter.

Chapter 6

  • The Triangles and its Properties: This chapter is very important and students need to be very thorough. This chapter deals with the triangles and their properties. You have to learn about the types of triangles and their properties. Allocate 2-3hrs for the medians and altitude of a triangle. Learn the properties of the exterior angle of a triangle and solve questions related to it. Allocate 1-2hrs for equilateral and isosceles triangles. Students must be very thorough with the last topic which is the right-angled triangle and Pythagoras theorem. You should allocate at least 3-4hrs for this topic and an additional few hours for the questions from this chapter.

Chapter 7

  • Rational Numbers: Learn about the types of rational numbers, such as whole numbers and natural numbers. Learn what is positive and negative rational numbers and their operations. You also have to learn how to represent a rational number on a number line. Allocate 1-2hrs for learning comparison of rational numbers. Allocate 2-4hrs for solving all the questions and examples related to this chapter.

Chapter 7

  • Practical Geometry: In this chapter, you have to learn how to construct parallel lines and types of triangles. Allocate 2-3hrs for all the exercises and solve questions related to them.

Chapter 8 

  • Perimeter and Area: Learn how to find the area and perimeter of a triangle, square, and other geometrical shapes. You also have to learn how to find the area of a parallelogram. For each of the topics, you can allocate 1hr. Circumference, perimeter, and area of a circle are also needed to be learned by you and you can allocate 2hrs for it.

Chapter 9

  • Exponents and Powers: In this chapter, you have to learn about the law of exponents and how to apply them. Allocate 3-4hrs for this chapter and solve the questions from this chapter.
